Sikkim publishes the proposal for each revision, allows sixty days for objections, and then notifies a single daily figure per category with no dearness allowance. The current rates took effect on 11 July 2022 and have not been revised since; the monthly figures above are the daily rates multiplied by 26. The steps between categories are unusually narrow, ₹20 a day from unskilled to semi-skilled and ₹15 to skilled, so the floor for a skilled worker is only seven per cent above that for an unskilled one. There is no revision cycle in the notification, and the state has gone three to four years between revisions in the past. The state government separately fixes higher muster-roll wages for its own casual workers, which are not the statutory minimum for private employers.
