Jammu and Kashmir revised its minimum wages once, in October 2022, after the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 was extended to the union territory in 2019, and has not revised since; the Deputy Chief Minister confirmed in the 2026 budget session that the 2022 revision remains the last. The rates are daily, with no dearness allowance, and the monthly figures above are the daily rates multiplied by 26. Alongside the four skill categories the notification sets a rate for administrative, ministerial and accounts staff between the semi-skilled and skilled figures. The gap between unskilled and semi-skilled work, ₹89 a day, is the widest of any state. News reports in early 2026 of the union territory revising wages in line with the Centre refer to the central sphere rates for establishments under central control, which are revised twice a year and are considerably higher; they do not change the union territory's own schedule.
