Free HR & Payroll Tools for India

Calculators and generators built on Indian payroll rules: gratuity, salary, leave encashment, notice period and TDS. None of them ask you to sign up or hand over an email. Nothing you type is stored.

Which calculator do you need?

  • If you are leaving a job after five years or more, start with the gratuity calculator. Then check leave encashment for unused leave, and notice period if you are going early.
  • If you are weighing up a job offer, use the salary calculator. It turns the CTC on the offer letter into what you will be paid each month.
  • If your payslip shrank and you want to know why, try the TDS calculator. It shows the tax due for the year and how it spreads over the months.
  • If you pay rent and want to claim it, the HRA calculator works out the tax free share. You will need that figure for the old regime.

Each tool shows its workings alongside the answer. Where the law sets a limit, we name the limit and show which one applied to your numbers.

Built for Indian payroll rules

Most salary and tax calculators online are written for a general audience, and they get the Indian details wrong. Gratuity uses a 26-day divisor, not 30. EPF runs on a ₹15,000 wage ceiling. Professional tax varies from state to state. The section 156 rebate limit, formerly section 87A, differs between the two regimes.

Every tool here follows the law it is built on and shows its workings, so you can check the figure rather than trust it. Each one runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or saved.

For statutory reference data, see our professional tax slabs by state, ESI contribution rates, and state holiday lists.

These calculators answer one question at a time. Engage HRMS does the same maths for every employee, every month. Payroll, PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS, with the filings that follow.
